On the occasion of Father's Day, my heart is a little heavy, as my father is not in good health. He is being seen my doctors, my sister will be with him soon, a brother in law is there, along with caring nephews, but...
Since we're three daughters,my father has taken pride in us and given us all opportunity to study and work as usually fathers of his time would do for their sons. Instead of limiting us to school education, he has opened up a world of spiritual and earth studies for us.

O Indra, give us wisdom as a father gives wisdom to his sons. -RV.VII.32.26
June 21st, summer solstice and Fathers' Day, has dawned in India. In a little while, I'll call my father.

Help

Have a blessed Father's Day my friend… and send your Dad all our Love for teaching you and allowing you to grow such a beautiful being… Much Love…
Love to you and your family, this is not an easy time - may you continue to be knit together in love and caring. Hugs
How lucky you are to have such a wonderful father. He taught you well.
(((hugs)))
What a blessing you are to your father, with each breath, with each thought, with the gentle way you touch the earth, and even with the passions and dreams you hold for your own children. And I feel the deep blessings of your father because of the love and wisdom he has unleashed upon the world in you.
Sending my love, prayers and healing thoughts to you and to your father,
Happy Father's Day!
Earon
Thank you, dearest friends. Your words warm me.
When I spoke to my father, he spoke of remedies he's been told to follow by his sister and her friends, and I realize that sometimes, people need their own age-mates to tell them things that they don't listen to, from their “can't possibly be grown up yet” kids!!!!
I can see your father in you. Everything you have got derived from your father, I think. Let god bless your father always. Hoping everything will be good.
Dear Meenakshi,
I'm glad you got to speak to your father yesterday and I hope he will get better soon.
It's funny, I talked to my dad, too, yesterday although if I call home I usually talk to my mom so yesterday was more of an exception. In Germany, we didn't have Father's Day yesterday. Actually, we don't have it at all. One Catholic religious holiday (held on a Thursday in May) is also called “Father's Day”, it's that day that fathers can go drinking with buddies from the morning onwards. So on that day you'll see groups of men who pull carts loaded with a beer barrel picknicking in parks or in the country side. But since my dad doesn't really drink, he's never joined in this tradition and “Father's Day” went largely unnoticed in our family.
I hope you've had a nice Father's Day. Blessings to you and your family.
Meenakshi, you have shared so much here. Your sadness as you see your father age and his health decline. Your enourmous love and appreciation for him, reflecting his love and appreciation for you. The spirituality which comes from your roots which have been nurtured - they guide and support you at this time.
big hug
Sending warm love to you and your father and family today. It is such a challenge sometimes to watch our parents as they age and their health suffers. And sometimes they seem to be in very poor health…and then, three years later…they're doing pretty good again. I don't know how old your father is, but hopefully he'll rally. Blessings to all…
Centria, how I wish that comes true; parents probably take out all the different layers of our being; as we have been with them since before earth-awareness dawned, they're present in so many ways in our life.
So as you saw, HummingBird, I felt very sad and yet ..when I spoke to him, his sister was visiting - another sister had passed away , but just being together, they sounded more cheerful than one would have expected. I caught them in a good moment!
Very interesting Father' s Day in Germany, Jenny! More like a 'let dads loose day!!!” In India we don't celebrate either, but my dad had heard of it. They've started now. And in a way, being a man, in our childhood, the dad was the center of the family, in the way that kids are now. So every day was Father's Day!
Thank you for your warm words, Sanmugan. They bring me solace. My mother is the silent aspect of my being and my father is the outward aspect. I guess I just lapped it all up!
So beautiful to read the comments, and yes Fathers are in us,and yes your Father is reflected in you, so we get to meet the man in a way….through you…blessings to the daughters as well as the sons….and may the medicine be good for your Father.. love
Meenakshi I can see what an enriching and precious moment it was
