Courage, clarity, commitment, communication- four Cs of community
Being an online community, this is what I feel helps us to show the highest form of ethical behavior.
All four are inter-related.
Courage
- To be authentic, and to allow another person to be authentic.
- To keep using courage to share your truth, the real aspects of your thinking and feeling.
- To take a step back when the other person seems to be wrong, or aggressive, and give yourself time to simmer down.
- To give the other the benefit of the doubt- we use different terminologies, come from different cultural and social backgrounds.
- To keep using peaceful means to solve problems. SPECIALLY at the first sign of trouble.
- To learn new ways of technology, techniques of communication, community and so on
- And courage, when it seems time, to say goodbye - to a friend, a group, cultivating a pod.

Clarity-
- To seek clarity in communicating with others
- To develop clarity in communicating with all members of Gaia
- To seek clarity in understanding the messages of other members
- To balance our roles online, offline and all areas in between, understanding how they inter-relate

Commitment:
- To stay engaged in a discussion till all involved are satisfied- on blogs, pods, and other areas
- To be committed to the Terms of Use, Friends, and other members of Gaia, as a member of this community, which does not preclude discussion, debate, suggestions and the like.

- To be committed to clear and courageous communication with all members who we resonate with.
What do you think?

As I read friends' blogs today, I was overjoyed to read examples of the four C's--all linked in comments below.

yes.. good thinking!
Hey Darling,
Actually, what I wonder is what motivated you to come up with these intentions? What has struck you to cause you to share these?
Just wondering,
Dave
I had several encounters over the past few days, in which offline and online communities influenced a change in me. And I realized that I have to use these 4 Cs and these aren't just for peace, but for ethical behavior!
Which reminds me…there's nothing there about Communication! Technical glitch or senior moment? Lemme go check.
AND because surfing the community, I often find people who feel others are not authentic; whose actions seem to attack those others; who are sad at change; yet who want changel who are lost, and so on. And that makes me sad.
And I realize I have to follow these rules for my own communication.
And revel also in those who join daily, in wonderment at what we represent.
it is the time of new moon, unfolding of the unknown areas within us; so perhaps that is why I wrote it!
I wondered if “communication” was what your were doing ;-)
Glad you added the rest, and shared your motivation. Makes sense.
Another word I use that describes some of what you touch on is integrity, not only with others but staying in integrity with myself (or My Self).
And I echo the last line-this is a period of increasing energy, healing and enlightment.
Blessings!
Integrity; yes; perhaps all I've done is shown some of the threads that lead out from it.
OMG I'm going on commenting on my own blog! 2 links to friend's blogs today that seem to be linked to this blog:
1 is a call to less spirituality and more action;spare change by Amanda
The other is a wish for more spirituality If could report the news in your world, what would you share? by Enlightened Thinker.

Dear Meenakshi, how kind of you to post a link to me on your own posting. The new moon does seem to clarify and enlighten. Her whispers seem to have caught many in her glow this month.
As for my “call to less spirituality,” I'm not sure if that is what I intended so much as sprituality in action. Years ago in a Religious Studies class a student asked “How does one pray? How do you find the difference between praying and talking to yourself?” After the class stopped laughing the professor answered.
“Prayer should be seen not as a spoken and occaisional request. Prayer should be taken into the body and practiced, like one practices a sport or hobby. With that every action one makes becomes prayer. Every movement, every word, every breath, every heartbeat.”
If we, this incredible Gaian community whose minds are so great and hearts so large, if we could go out each day and act our prayers the change would be immeasurable!
Thank you for helping me share my thoughts with others…I am interested to see what other friends think. xoxox
Amanda, well said. Together. And perhaps what happens is, that each of us is already doing a lot; just not sharing it; and as we do, it will grow manifold.

now I feel I'm stalking myself! But somehow this has been a day of finding links to that question at the end of my blog.

“It is important at this time to be courageous because there is a large amount of old energy leaving the planet. It can feel like the ground is disappearing beneath our feet and we don't know (yet) how to hover on the fresh air that seems all the remains. Fear is not the answer. Worrying about things isn't the answer (although this transit certainly promotes mentally exhausting ourselves looking for non-existent answers). It's a bit like we are having a delusion-bypass. But we may mistakenly believe it's the truth that's trying to leave the building.”~Celia Fenn as reported inEntwining Love and Truth Posted on May 2nd, 2008 by trinity

is about speaking one's truth. I'd say that takes all 4 Cs of community.
