Somehow, for me, 2009 has already come. As I am writing any date, I usually write 2009 and then go back and make it 2008.
May this be a signal of the coming of wonders .....

As holiday times roll around, and this is a season where so many different traditions are observed, I find myself blessed at being in Miami, where I have people I can call to wish throughout the season:
Happy Hanukkah!~Jewish friends
Feliz Noche Buena -South Americans/ Cuban colleagues and friends
Merry Christmas! ~Christian friends and relatives
Happy Kwanzaa! ~African- American friends
Happy New Year! ~ All friends

Feliz Navidad, Meenakshi! In the hispanic tradition, families stay up all night Christmas Eve and open their presents at midnight. Families from El Salvador make chicken tamales for Christmas dinner, and my husband made marinated and baked chicken tonight. I made the rice with potatoes and green peppers. I took the kids to a candlelight service in the day on Christmas Eve. Happy 2009 to you!
