What is your relationship to waiting?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 06, 2008:
My mother told me, "Never wait for anything. Keep yourself otherwise occupied."
So when my kids were small and I couldn't go back to sleep after a late night waking session, I learned html and made my websites, and tidied cupboards till I was sleepy again to go to sleep.
When my husband wasn't home in time for a meal, I'd begin to lay it on the table, and there he'd be! Works for guests too.
She is very wise, my mother. She taught us how to wait without the energy of "not doing anything till something happens" or "the energy of wanting something else to happen."
Long before NOW was the most used three-letter word on the planet [perhaps!], my mother showed me how to make each moment worthwhile.
Or as my cousin says: Master the moment..

Very wise, your mother!
:-)
I agree. Thanks for sharing mom… Mine is still around and I am so grateful. She trained us to fend for ourselves and run our own life. Breathe in the moments.

Re: Waiting
I get little lessons that pop into my head/rt. A recent lesson that popped
“If you can't do what you want to do. Do something else that you can.”
and “Yes, We Can!”
Mary/JOYOUS, that's a good one!
Or–“If others don't do, YOU can!”
I'll go for that - Master your moment! Blessings, dear friend!
Very wise indeed, It's a blessing that wisdom transfers across the miles to us.
Deep bows to you and your Mother.
profound wisdom from your mother and i love the 'master the moment'.
thank you for sharing meenakshi.
learning and absorbing,

excellent! as others have already said… your mother was a wise woman, indeed. thank you for sharing her wisdom with us.
Yes, she is wise, and i thank you for your warm thoughts, Samme, FenixRising, Lars, Mila. Now in her 80s, she is being forced to live in the moment; as she forgets what happened even 2 weeks earlier. But whenever I think of her, it is her twinkling eyes and the way she shakes when she's laughing!
